Launching Greenville’s (Second!) Creative Reuse Center
ReCraft Reuse Center collects donations from generous Upstate manufacturers, retailers, institutions and households and redistributes the materials to schools, festivals, makers, crafters, artists, and students. In 2025, ReCraft ensured that 25,000 local families, teachers, artists, and makers had access to otherwise expensive creative materials. GWG grant funds will help them open a second location in Greer.
Outcome/Impact: A second location will reduce the barrier for many without transportation and bring access to creative, affordable materials and outreach programming to as many as 10,000 people in eastern and northern Greenville County.

Greenville Theatre

Founded in 1926, Greenville Theatre is the oldest and largest professional theatre in the region. It is the cultural cornerstone for the Upstate community, performing at their 571-seat theatre on Heritage Green since 1967. GWG grant funds will help replace dilapidated stage flooring that has not been replaced or refurbished since 1967. Its current condition—marked by holes, weak spots, and ridges—has become a safety concern for the 200+ actors, musicians, technicians, students, and volunteers who utilize the theatre. Work will be completed by August 2025 in time for the start of GT’s 100th Anniversary Season.

South Carolina Children’s Theatre

Create an inclusive theatre experience by purchasing assistive technology for individuals with sensory sensitivities. Technology purchased will include two live feed cameras and viewing screens for both theatre spaces, side tab curtains, and microphones, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can enjoy the theatre.
