GWG seeks to address inequities within our community by supporting projects that address every individual’s needs for food, clothing, shelter and safety as well as projects that address underlying social problems.

Camp Spearhead

Camp Spearhead enriches the lives of those with special needs through therapeutic recreational opportunities, including a traditional summer residential camp, and school-year weekend programs.

Loaves and Fishes

Year Granted:

Grant Amount: $27,962

GWG funds will be applied to update and re-structure the organization's wireless communication system in order to streamline and facilitate the logistics of picking up and delivering perishable food.

Greenville Rape Crisis and Child Abuse Center

Year Granted:

Grant Amount: $25,000

GWG funds will help purchase a colposcope (a digital image documentation system) with state-of-the-art features which will allow accurate non-invasive, child-friendly exams conducted at the GRCCAC Center.

GAIHN – Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network

Year Granted:

Grant Amount: $25,000

GWG will help fund the “Sharing Hospitality with Homeless Families: Transitional Housing Collaborative”, a part of GAIHN’s 2010 Plan. Under this collaborative, $25,000 of GWG funds will be matched by $75,000 from the SC Housing Trust Fund to purchase one transitional house or duplex.

Clement’s Kindness Fund for the Children

Year Granted:

Grant Amount: $25,585

GWG funds will be applied to forms of assistance that include a school re-entry program to prepare children for returning to the school environment, family and teenager support events, and psychological testing materials that will allow counseling to be integrated into treatment plans.
